Eurobound Debuts New Tour to Scandinavian Arctic

Eurobound is celebrating 2024 and a 25 percent year-over-year revenue growth by introducing a curated, escorted experience, visiting Scandinavia’s Arctic region. The new 10-night “Into the Arctic” tour represents an expansion of product for Eurobound, which is known for bespoke and independent packages to Europe.

Scheduled for winter 2025, the escorted tour covers Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish Lapland north of the Arctic Circle. The small-group tour, limited to 24 passengers, begins with a transfer from Ivalo, Finland’s northernmost airport, to Saariselka, the country’s northernmost ski resort, for an overnight stay. Guests then travel farther north via private coach for an overnight in Kirkenes, before boarding a ship for an overnight coastal cruise to Tromsø, known as the capital of the Northern Lights.

Following two nights in Tromsø, the tour departs for the village of Kilpisjärvi, Finland, near the border with Norway and Sweden, for one night. A coach transfer the next day takes guests to Levi, Finland’s largest winter sports resort, where they spend the night in a glass-roofed, igloo-shaped cabin. The tour then crosses into neighboring Haparanda, on the Swedish-Finnish border, for two nights, before heading back to Finland for a final night at Santa’s Hotel Santa Claus in Rovaniemi, Finland, and a return airport transfer.

Activities abound, from a husky safari in Levi, to lunch and a visit at the Snowhotel in Kirkenes. A reindeer safari with reindeer sledding and a visit to a Sami camp with lunch in a traditional reindeer herder’s hut introduces guests to the history and culture of Lapland’s indigenous people. In Tromsø, once considered Europe’s northernmost town, a walking tour and brewery visit with tasting provides an overview, while a visit to Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi offers an opportunity to see Santa Claus or send a letter postmarked from Santa Claus Main Post Office. Cruise stops at small, coastal villages and opportunities to see the Northern Lights—weather permitting—round off included activities.

Additionally, two optional experiences await adventurous participants. A snowmobile safari takes guests to the border where Finland, Norway, and Sweden meet, while a “Polar Explorer Icebreaker Experience” provides a three-hour cruise in the frozen waters of the Bothnian Sea.

The tour departs twice monthly beginning January 9 through March 19, 2025. The tour price includes roundtrip airport-to-hotel transfers, accommodations, eight dinners and four lunches, English-speaking tour escort, activities, ground transportation, and an overnight cruise, as well as a 14 percent travel advisor commission. Optional experiences are additional. The arrival airport is Ivalo (IVL) and the departure is Rovaniemi (RVN).
