Intrepid Travel Brings Urban Adventures Under U.S. Brand Umbrella

Intrepid Travel has officially brought Urban Adventures, its city tour brand in the U.S., under its own North American DMC. This transition completes a 15-year partnership with WeVenture, who helped create and operate the U.S.-based trips.

Intrepid Travel serves more customers in the U.S. than in any other destination within its DMC network, with 75 percent of Urban Adventures travelers coming from the U.S. In 2025, Intrepid is set to host over 40,000 Urban Adventures travelers across the country, supported by six dedicated city managers and more than 80 tour leaders. When combined with overseas visitors and the immersive hiking adventures operated by Wildland Trekking, Intrepid will welcome over 55,000 U.S.-based travelers this year alone—which the company says cements its position as a leader in responsible, community-driven travel across the United States.

Immersive Experiences Across the U.S.

Urban Adventures tours span Boston, Chicago, Denver, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, Seattle and Washington, D.C. Highlights include:

  • Tasting the vibrancy of New Orleans’ French Quarter and visiting the cities jazz clubs through a local’s eyes
  • Sipping your way through Seattle’s coffee culture from those who put the city on the map
  • Experiencing a private Broadway night out in New York City or the tastes and tales of NYC’s tenements
  • Walking the Food to Freedom Trail in Boston instead of using buses, as most tour companies do

The most popular trip, exploring Washington Mall & Monuments by electric car, offers a way to experience the scale and iconic landmarks of D.C. With so much to see across such a sprawling area, this tour provides comfort and convenience without missing a single highlight.

Strengthening Leadership in the Americas

To support this expansion, Amanda Neiman, previously the North American DMC operations manager, has been promoted to operations director and will oversee Urban Adventures’s operational delivery. Reporting directly to Matt Berna, senior vice president for North America, Neiman will work closely with Jason Fried, one of WeVenture’s original founders, who will continue to lead the Urban Adventures team for Intrepid, expanding the team and portfolio.
