Strike to Disrupt Air France Flights March 23

A new strike could cause travel disruptions for Air France flights on March 23. According to a statement by the airline, several Air France staff unions have called for a strike on that date.

“It remains to early to ascertain the effects this strike might have on our flight schedule,” the airline said in a written statement. “Please note that Air France flights operated by an aircraft other than that of Air France or Joon will not be affected by this strike (KLM, Delta…).”

Air France said that it will now offer rebooking options at no extra cost, no matter the fare. On the day before departure, Air France will send passengers an SMS or email to confirm the strike’s potential impact on their flight.

Air France customers flying March 23 or 24 can rebook either March 20 – 21 or March 25 – 28. Customers can also postpone their flight to sometime after March 28, change their country of destination or origin or cancel their trip, in which case they will get a voucher that will be valid for one year and can be used on Air France, KLM or Hop flights. The voucher will be nonrefundable.

Delta has likewise issued a rebooking waiver for the strike date, March 23, as well as the next day, March 24. Customers flying on an Air France, Hop or Joon flight on those dates can rebook for either March 20 – 21 or March 25 – 28, with the new ticket to be issued on or before March 29.
