Direct Travel honored its top performers during the 2024 Going the Extra Mile (GEM) Trip in Costa Rica. Each year, the GEM Trip recognizes advisors in leisure who go above and beyond their roles to improve the organization in pursuit of Direct Travel’s goals.
Forty attendees from the U.S. and Canada, including leaders and advisors from Direct Travel as well as key partners gathered at the Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo October 20-25. Direct Travel organized a fun and experiential program to show appreciation for these top-producing advisors; highlights included coffee making and tasting, cold plunges, water sports, zip lining, spa opportunities, a Hacienda El Viejo Wetlands Boat Tour and the Rum and Cultural Experience sponsored by A&K.
The GEM Trip, introduced in 2016, is an opportunity for Direct Travel to celebrate the company’s top performers and recognize their overall sales performance. The annual GEM Trip commends the achievements of top performing advisors who go above and beyond, not only in driving strategic partner sales but also in delivering service to their clients. There are multiple categories for advisors to qualify from each geographic region: Highest Strategic Supplier Sales; Highest Percentage Strategic Supplier Sales; Highest Single Strategic Sale; Highest Strategic Insurance Sale; Highest Strategic Air Sale; and the Highest Average Yield.
Additionally, the GEM Award is given to a non-selling leisure employee who continually goes above and beyond in their role. Last but not least, the Lynda Sinclair Shining Star Award is given each year to an individual in leisure who demonstrates perseverance while maintaining positivity and passion for travel.
