MSC Cruises has announced details of the seven new Carousel Productions at Sea shows created exclusively for its Meraviglia-Class ships.
Besides daily activities, themed evenings, live music, sports tournaments, interactive arcades and full-scale theatrical productions in the ship’s main theater, guests sailing on the line’s Meraviglia Class ships can experience Carousel Productions at Sea, a new immersive entertainment concept. The seven new shows combine acrobatics, dance and music, lighting and special effects to create a multi-sensory entertainment experience in The Carousel Lounge. Each 10,763-square-foot custom-built, multi-million euro lounge can accommodate up to 400 guests. Each show will last 40 minutes.
The show “Ajedrez” is available on MSC Virtuosa. It is inspired by the game of chess and introduces two opposing queens, as they fall in love with the same king and challenge each other to win his heart. “Arkymea” is also available on MSC Virtuosa. With the help of a strange device, a scientist breaks through dimensions to reach Arkymea, a mysterious place populated by extravagant characters performing acrobatic feats.
“Strings” is available on MSC Grandiosa. This high-flying circus adventure tells the tale of a lonely toymaker and his beautiful muse.
“Sweet” is available on MSC Bellissima and MSC Grandiosa. This show takes guests of all ages to real-life candy land. Another show available on MSC Bellissima is “MYüT”, which follows the emotional journey of the main character, MYüT, through magical worlds filled with characters, acrobats, and dancers.
“House of Houdini” is a celebration of imaginative illusions and magic of Harry Houdini. “Rock Circus” takes a team of acrobats, circus acts, singers, dancers and musicians, and adds the rock soundtracks of AC/DC, Guns & Roses and other bands. Both shows will be available on MSC Meraviglia from May 2022.
The shows can be booked in advance for €10 (approximately $11) or onboard for €15 (approximately $17) and include a signature alcoholic or alcohol-free cocktail to complement the show theme. Cocktails include Bombay Tonic, Vodka Red Rooster, Virgin Mojito, Rosemary Gimlet, Tiki Mule and Paloma Fizz.
