andBeyond Opens First Property Outside Africa: andBeyond Vira Vira, Chile

andBeyond, a luxury experiential travel company, has openedits first lodge outside of Africa: the new andBeyond Vira Vira in Chile’s Lake District.

andBeyond says the property is a hub for adventure enthusiasts. Available activities are skiing or trekking the Villarrica Volcano, horseback riding, fly fishing and scenic helicopter rides. Also featured is a farm-to-table restaurant, a WILDchild program for young people and al fresco dining by the Liucara River.

The lodge has more than 10 villas, over five suites and a 5-room hacienda that incorporates local household objects like textured Chilean rugs, hand-woven tapestries, Mapuche artifacts, and restored antiques. The lodge also provides a visit to a local Mapuche tribe-run textile workshop.

  • andBeyond Phinda Homestead in KwaZulu-Natal reopened on September 1 following a major re-build.
  • Phinda Impact Small Group Journey starts November 24. This 7-day journey combines wildlife conservation, communication between travelers and the local community, and the day-in-the-life of an andBeyond ranger program.
  • An India Mobile Camping Small Group Journey program, which takes travelers through Delhi, Kalinjar, Panna National Park, Orccha, and Kuno to explore India’s history and wildlife. Activities include hiking to ancient forts, searching for tigers, and engaging with local tribes.
