AG Group Plans New Five-Star Hotel in Rome’s Historical Center

AG Group has announced the development of a new five-star hotel in Rome’s historical center. The new property, which involves the conversion of a historic building into a 70-key luxury hotel complete with restaurant and terrace, is slated to be completed in late 2023. It will be AG Hotels’ first five-star hotel in the “Eternal City."

Located in Via delle Botteghe Oscure, 4, the historical building was most recently inhabited by the Italian Banking Association (ABI) and also served as a former national headquarters for Italy’s communist party. The building’s original architecture will be retained, including the red brick façade, the entrance hall designed by Giò Pomodoro and the bust of Antonio Gramsci set in marble.

“This new development marks a major milestone for AG Hotels and our company’s strategic development plan,” said Andrea Girolami, founder and president, AG Group.

AG Group has also announced the re-launch of AG Hotel Consulting, a division of the AG Group portfolio which offers a range of solutions to support private hotels through their various stages of growth and development. Consulting services include revenue management, operational assistance, booking support, sales and marketing, destination marketing, advisory, information technology and legal assistance, amongst others. The most recent addition to the AG Hotel Consulting portfolio includes Hotel Villa Athena in Agrigento, along with Oasi di Kufra in the seaside town of Sabaudia, located a one-and-a-half-hour drive from Rome.
