Anguilla's Altamer Promotes Moira Masshardt as the Resort's GM

Time Equities Inc. (TEI) recently announced that Altamer, the luxury villa collection located on Shoal Bay West has promoted Moira Masshardt to general manager. Masshardt has been with the Altamer team since July 2021 and served as resort manager in her previous role.

Natalie Diaz, chief of staff at TEI, who also serves as asset manager of Altamer Resort, said, “Moira’s enthusiasm, careful attention to guest wants and needs, and understanding of luxury is transforming the overall guest experience at Altamer. She is one of few young female general managers in Anguilla and we are confident that she will continue to elevate Altamer as the premier villa destination in the Caribbean and exceed all of our guest expectations.”

Native Anguillan Masshardt studied in the U.K. and returned to Anguilla in 2016 where she took on the role of wine manager and marketing coordinator at Tropical Distributors Ltd. Later, she held the position of sales and events manager at Zemi Beach House. Masshardt joined Altamer in July 2021 where she helped assess, improve and develop clear systems and procedures for efficient property management, supported all aspects of marketing and sales, facilitated real estate showings, sales and FAM trips and provided clear coordination of events on property, besides other tasks that resulted in an enhanced guest experience.

“I am extremely pleased that Altamer Resort believed in me, and I am proud to be a member of a team that has a people-first approach to doing business. I wholeheartedly believe that business is made possible by people and how you treat your people as a business says everything. Serving others is all I have known my entire life and I am extremely honored that I get to work hard every day to prove that success in hospitality can also be humane and people-centered if done correctly,” said Masshardt.

Masshardt has a penchant for volunteerism, and she holds the position of vice president of an all-female eco-conscious non-profit organization called the Anguilla Enhancement Project (A.E.P.), an entity whose mission statement is to “Transform Anguilla village by village.”

Altamer is home to four villas, three of which are open, including the Petit Topaz, Antilles Pearl, and the recently renovated Blue Diamond. Villas span from 1.5 bedrooms to 5.5 bedrooms measuring up to 13,000 square feet. A stay at Altamer includes bespoke services such as butler service, concierge services, kayaks and snorkeling, a private fitness center, Bluetooth surround sound system and newly refurbished tennis and basketball courts.

The resort is also committed to sustainability and the pursuing of fiscally, socially and environmentally responsible business practices. The team has taken the opportunity to offset all carbon emissions generated from their guests’ travel (to and from the resort) and overall stay at the villas by donating to a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called The Ocean Foundation and their “SeaGrass Grow” program.
