The Cool Pool of the Week: The Beach Club at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina

Millennial families and couples looking for a cool pool to plunge in during a domestic holiday should check out the The Beach Club at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina in South Carolina.

The 30,000-square-foot waterfront pool area and deck is great for both couples and families. Two pools are located within the pool deck – a larger resort pool with beach entry and a smaller adults-only pool with private poolside cabanas.

The views from the main pool are impressive as sunbathers can see downtown Charleston, the famous Arthur Ravenel Bridge and the famed World War II aircraft carrier, the USS Yorktown at Patriot’s Point.

The pools are heated and set between the two pools is a large hot tub and fire pits, surrounded by Adirondack chairs, perfect for evening poolside s'mores. Guests can play bocce ball on the lawn or life-size chess next to the Tiki Bar.

Agents should note that the adult pool area can be rented out for corporate events and gatherings. The rental pricing varies by the season. In high season (April-October), private rental hours may be limited, in order to keep resort guests expectations met. Reservations can be made by calling the sales department at 843-856-0028.

The Beach Club also has an inventive kid’s club called "Mini-Mariners" and part of the program takes place in the pool. For corporate groups and team building exercises, the property offers a Boat Building Regatta, where each team is given a limited amount of supplies to construct a boat that carries one team member in a race across the pool. Throughout the team building, mini challenges are held for the chance to win extra materials for their team.

There is poolside service from the Tiki Bar, located in the pool area. The signature cocktail is the Beach Club Beach Comber, which is made of Captain Morgan’s white rum, Parrot Bay rum, coconut rum, Dry Curacao and a pineapple. We were also told that people rave about the pimento cheese on the Tiki Bar menu and that it is a Southern staple that’s not to be missed.
