Live Aqua Urban Resort San Miguel de Allende has joined Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ Legend Collection. The hotel, which opened in November 2018, is the largest resort in San Miguel de Allende, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008.
The urban lifestyle hotel is housed in a hacienda-style structure with historic touches such as elevated ceilings, arches, courtyards, art pieces and water features. Mexico City-based AoMa Estudio took inspiration from San Miguel de Allende's colonial architecture for the hotel’s design.
The property has 153 guestrooms and seven suites with unique elements such as glass-encased bathrooms, exposed brick, mosaic tiles and rustic wooden floors. It is also home to Zibu, a fine-dining venue helmed by Mexican Chef Eduardo Palazuelos that serves up a modern take on Mexican cuisine, as well as the Spice Market, a pan-Asian culinary experience.
Other amenities include an outdoor pool and jacuzzi, a fitness center and a beauty parlor and the Feel Urban Spa. Also on site is a ballroom with the capacity to host events of up to 1,000 guests; the space can also be divided into five sections. Other event venues include a covered outdoor terrace overlooking the river. Certified meeting and wedding planners are available to assist with events.
Live Aqua Urban Resort San Miguel de Allende is in San Miguel de Allende’s Historic Quarter, adjacent to the Obraje Reservoir. The city is known for its historic center, colonial architecture, year-round spring-like climate, cultural celebrations and gastronomy.
