Planet Hollywood to Open Costa Rica All-Inclusive This October

Planet Hollywood has set an opening date for its first all-inclusive resort. The new Planet Hollywood Beach Resort Costa Rica, which will be set at the base of the Peninsula Papagayo in the Guanacaste region, is scheduled to open this October.

The new all-inclusive is the first resort on tap for the Planet Hollywood brand. It is being developed as part of an agreement with Sunwing Travel Group the two companies announced back in February. The second resort, the Planet Hollywood Cancun, is set to open in spring 2019.

The hotel will be a new-build property, and it will aim to reflect the Planet Hollywood lifestyle brand, including the brand’s signature Hollywood memorabilia. It will also incorporate a number of high-tech touches, including interactive touchscreen displays narrating the memorabilia, as well as PHTV in-suite and throughout the resort, which will keep guests up to date with live streams of events and activities.

In terms of accommodations, the resort will have 294 suites, each of which will have a Phabulous Bed with bedding developed exclusively for Planet Hollywood. There will also be eight different food and beverage venues, including a Guy Fieri Burger Joint, as well as a PUMPED fitness center, PH Spa, PH Shop, two swimming pools and a splash zone.

The Peninsula Papagayo is on Costa Rica’s northern Pacific coast, in the province of Guanacaste. Known for its natural beauty, it is a popular ecotourism destination, with a number of hotels from luxury brands like Four Seasons and Andaz. The destination is also making a big push into golf travel via a new brand ambassador partnership with golf star Ernie Els.
