FIT tour operator Avanti Destinations has appointed Kristin Romitti as the Northeast Regional Sales Director, where she will report to chief marketing officer John Hanratty.
Romitti will be responsible for overseeing travel agents in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C., and Kentucky.
Romitti has been working in the travel industry for over 30 years. Most recently, she was the Northeast Regional Director for Cox & Kings in Los Angeles, CA. Previously, she handled territories in the northeast for Pleasant Holidays and Journese, Princess Cruises and Cunard Lines, as well as Sandals and Beaches Resorts.
“Kristin brings with her a thorough knowledge of the tour operator business, decades of experience, and long-standing relationships with travel agents in the northeast, said Hanratty. "She is also a highly effective trainer, which will be instrumental in growing Avanti’s business in the territory and make her a valuable resource for our travel agent partners.”
Since 1981, Avanti Destinations, a member of the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA), has been selling customized independent vacations to locations in Europe, Asia, and Central and South America. The tour operator offers air, rail, rental cars, hotels, sightseeing/attractions, transfers, and experiential options.
They specialize in hand-picked, locally-owned hotels in both large and small cities, as well as putting together complex, multi-destination itineraries. For 2018 and 2019, Avanti has added new destinations to its travel itineraries, including Sapporo in Japan, Pattaya in Thailand, and Yichang and Chongqing in China.
