Use Luxury Hotel Renovations to Excite Clients

Upscale travelers want to know that their “temporary homes” at hotels offer the same high level of living and luxury touches that can be found in their own houses. Luxury hotels continuously re-invest in their properties to keep furnishings, décor and amenities and services fresh and up to the standards their guests demand. For agents, news about renovations can be used as a sales feature that might just close the sale. What client wouldn’t want to be among the first to stay in a renovated room or to try the newest venue at a favorite hotel?

The best way to stay informed about news and happenings at hotels is to establish relationships with the regional trade or business managers at the properties. Also, stay up-to-date on industry news by reading the local trade e-newsletters and print magazines. Finally, many hotel companies offer agent educational programs that provide details on their properties.

Here’s how to best position news once you know about it:

Impress with the Millions

Luxury hotels commit millions of dollars to property renovations so be sure to let clients know just how much went into the refresh. Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Resort & Casino is just finishing up “reimagining” all of its 2,424 guest rooms and suites. The cost of this project that featured “bold yet sophisticated décor” was $124 million.

Beyond the Rooms

Anything new is worthy of talking to clients about when it comes to hotels. Properties often add new restaurants or bring on a new chef to enhance the menu. Luxury clients are interested in celebrity chefs or high-end dining experiences. Celebrated multi-Michelin star chef and television personality Gordan Ramsay announced his plans for the first-of-its kind Gordan Ramsay HELL’S KITCHEN located at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, set to open in winter 2017. Let clients know if renovations have recently been made to the pool, fitness center, spa, tennis courts, and even if a new concept has been added.

It’s in the Details

Describe exactly what types of renovations have taken place to clients and excite them by painting a picture. Better yet, if there are photos available than show, not tell, clients what their guest rooms, or the new restaurants, looks like. When Caesars Palace Las Vegas transformed the original Roman Tower into the Julius Tower, it incorporated “custom artwork and unique designs that were inspired by iconic elements of the property.” The Augustus Tower refurbishment included “premium furnishings featuring a classic Caesars theme with a contemporary look and feel.”
