ArcheoRunning Launches New Colosseum Running Tour

Travelers visiting Rome can embark on a unique adventure with ArcheoRunning’s new Colosseum running or walking tour. Following a customized running tour that explores the iconic squares of the Eternal City, the private experience offers insider access to the historic amphitheater’s attic. Founder Isabella Calidonna, an art historian, certified tour guide and coach for Fidal (Italian Athletics Federation) and Coni (Italian National Olympic Committee), leads all of ArcheoRunning’s offerings.

The two-hour Colosseum tour takes participants around the city to see hidden gems and historic monuments before venturing up to Colosseum’s intermediate gallery, ascending to the third tier, and then even higher with a climb to the attic. Every route is personalized to the travelers’ preferred departure location, ensuring a unique and immersive experience.

ArcheoRunning’s new Colosseum tour is made possible thanks to the collaboration between ArcheoRunning and Parco archeologico del Colosseo, under the guidance of Director Alfonsina Russo. The tour is available for up to seven people. The cost is €160 ($171.07) for the tour in addition to a €20 ($21.38) ticket to the Colosseum per person.

Established in 2016, ArcheoRunning offers private running and walking tours in Rome. Participants rediscover historic sites as well as learn about new hidden gems on custom tours ranging from two to four hours. Created for individuals or groups of all ages, tours range up to a 5k (approximately 2.5 miles) with stops along the way. Current offerings range from runs through Villa Borghese, Villa Pamphilj and Trastevere to the Roman Bridges, ancient aqueducts and Appian Way.
