Cruise Planners to Leave American Express, Join Signature Travel Network

After a lengthy and careful research process, Cruise Planners has announced that it will join Signature Travel Network effective September 29, 2022. Cruise Planners previously was affiliated with American Express’ Travel Representative program for 18 years, which was set to end in December 2022. The decision to join Signature, according to a press release by Cruise Planners, came down to shared values that it believes will enhance the travel experience for clients of their 2,500-strong home-based travel agent franchise network.

“This is welcome news and we feel strongly that this is the right direction for our company,” said Michelle Fee, CEO and co-founder of Cruise Planners. “Signature’s programs are impressive and we felt the essence of the pillars we hold ourselves to are reflected in their company as well. There are many complementary programs that Signature offers that will elevate the Cruise Planners brand and give advisors an extra edge to propel their business.”

While Cruise Planners stands on its own when it comes to technology, Signature, with its six decades of travel industry experience, focuses heavily on technology, marketing and training programs that Cruise Planners will be able to leverage to augment its offerings.

In other news from the agency, it recently hosted its Land and Luxury Symposium at the Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic. At the event, Cruise Planners shared best practices when it comes to boosting travel sales, and how to attract, service and retain luxury clients. In addition to trade shows, the symposium offered several panel discussions with topics such as "Destinations In Depth;" "River;" "Hot Trends in Resorts;" "Think Outside the Box;" and "Unique Cruise Experiences."

Cruise Planners was founded in 1994 and touts itself as the nation’s largest home-based travel agent franchise network.
