Set across 24 acres, Islander Resort in Islamorada in the Florida Keys has unveiled its property-wide transformation. The project encompassed a complete interior and exterior renovation of its 114 bungalows and suites and 25 two-bedroom townhome villas; the update of resort grounds, amenities and programming; new and enhanced dining outlets; and refreshed event spaces.
The fully refreshed oceanside bungalow-style retreats, averaging 350 square feet, provide waterfront views and modern amenities. The accommodations also have remodeled private, furnished patio spaces, averaging 300 square feet. Twelve new Cabana Poolside Rooms offer expansive patios that lead to poolside cabanas, complete with food and drink service. A total of 14 oceanside suites range in size up to 1,070 square feet and offer a range of comforts, including a full kitchen, formal dining and living areas, and a patio lounge framing Atlantic Ocean views.
The newly refreshed Bayside Villas, on the other hand, offer a blend of home-like comforts and resort amenities. These 25 townhome-style accommodations, ranging from 1,042 to 1,092 square feet, are designed for extended stays, boating adventures or family vacations and have two bedrooms, a living area with a sofa bed, a gourmet kitchen and a private deck. Guests have access to the Sunset Pool and Emerald Beach, boat slips and all the amenities of Oceanside.
Two completely redesigned pool areas include the family-friendly, freshwater Oasis Pool and saltwater Terrace Pool. The transformation adds suspended beds, shaded cabanas and hammocks tucked into tropical gardens.

The resort’s expansive beachfront now has palapas, sun huts and plush beach loungers. In the evenings, guests can share stories and toast s’mores at Firelight Cove. Additionally, the two-acre Seaside Sports activities area offers a nine-hole Seaside Links putting course, kayaks, paddleboards, and permanent courts for pickleball, basketball, volleyball and bocce ball. Sunrise Pier provides a tranquil vantage point for marine-life sightings and the launch point for fishing, snorkeling and sunset cruises. Guests can also enjoy sunrise yoga and moonrise bonfires.
The resort’s five on-site culinary experiences now have refreshed menus and updated interior and exterior design elements. These include Drift on the Beach, which offers locally sourced, flame-grilled dishes; Tides Beachside Bar, which serves up coastal-inspired fare and tropical cocktails for lunch and dinner; Oceanfront Coccoloba, which offers fresh fish tacos, lobster rolls and beverages during the day; the new thatched-roof bar, Sandy’s, offering beachside libations; and Seaside Sports, serving a selection of grab-and-go snacks and beverages.
The resort also has over 129,000 square feet of refreshed indoor and outdoor beachfront space, which can host weddings and corporate events for up to 1,000 guests.
Sustainable practices throughout the property include the largest solar installation in Islamorada; an on-site water reclamation system for irrigation; and energy-efficient upgrades like new air conditioning systems and hurricane-resistant doors and windows. Islander Resort also supports Reef Relief, dedicated to preserving the coral reefs of the region. On-property activations, such as the Reef Relief Cocktail and sale of the Reef Relief Turtle plush toy, allow guests to enjoy their stay while contributing directly to these conservation efforts.
