Now Open: Laguna Surf Lodge by SCP Hotels

Soul Community Planet (SCP) Hotels has announced the opening of the Laguna Surf Lodge by SCP in Laguna Beach, CA. The 41-key eco-surf lodge sits directly on the beach and is located near the art galleries, eateries and boutiques of Laguna Beach village.

The newly refreshed Laguna Surf Lodge, originally opened in 1948 as the Laguna Riviera Hotel, underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation led by Kelly Ogden of ELK Collective and AC Atherton of Summit Seven D Architecture to update the design aesthetic, landscaping and exterior. The "new" hotel’s design utilizes natural wood, woven rattan and textiles, whitewashed tones, bespoke furnishings and earthy textures throughout.

The property offers scenic coastal views and direct access to a range of water sports, including surfing and stand-up paddle boarding. Guests can also relax on the beach in front of the hotel with complimentary use of chairs, umbrellas and towels. Additionally, guests may enjoy the serene garden pool, sun deck, courtyard and oceanfront fire pits and seating.

The newly renovated guestrooms at Laguna Surf Lodge comprise one- and two-bedroom ocean-view suites, family suites with bunk beds, and king, queen and double rooms, some of which feature have oceanfront decks and fireplaces. All accommodations showcase Scandinavian-inspired bohemian décor. Laguna Surf Lodge also offers SCP’s signature Peaceful Rooms, designed to create a stress-free sleep environment by eliminating electronics and reducing blue light. Each of these rooms is equipped with wellness-focused amenities including oil diffusers, air filters, meditation pillows, yoga mats, books and more.

Additionally, during the summer, guests will have the opportunity to engage in complimentary weekend yoga sessions on the Laguna Surf Lodge’s outdoor lawn, enjoying ocean views or end their days with “Après Adventure,” featuring a variety of beverages, light fare and live music around the ocean view fire pits. The lodge also offers “Soulful Start” sessions, inviting guests to embrace mindfulness with beachside activities such as readings, meditation sessions, sound baths and stretching, followed by a refreshing ocean plunge.
