The new Planet Hollywood Beach Resort Costa Rica has officially opened its doors. The first all-inclusive resort developed as part of a partnership between Planet Hollywood and Sunwing Travel Group, the new property is set at the base of the Peninsula Papagayo in the Guanacaste region.
The newbuild property aims to reflect the Planet Hollywood lifestyle brand, including the brand’s signature Hollywood memorabilia. It also incorporates a number of high-tech touches, including interactive touchscreen displays narrating the memorabilia, as well as PHTV in-suite and throughout the resort, which keep guests up to date with live streams of events and activities. Other design elements aim to pay tribute to the resort’s natural surroundings, incorporating locally sourced materials.
In terms of accommodations, the resort has 294 suites, each of which has a Phabulous Bed with bedding developed exclusively for Planet Hollywood. There are also seven restaurants and six bars, including a Guy Fieri Burger Joint, as well as a PUMPED fitness center, PH Spa, PH Shop, two swimming pools and a splash zone.
On the property and in the surrounding rainforests guests can enjoy a curated list of excursions called PH Experiences. These range from visiting life-like dinosaurs in an open-air jungle environment to sailing and snorkeling in the Pacific Ocean. The Stars Kids Club offers fun and educational experiences such as Planet Hollywood TV, Walk of Fame Scavenger Hunt, Starlets Hall of Fame Party and more.
Other signature brand offerings include the Your Soundtrack music program where guests can choose a music theme to create the soundtrack of their vacation, as well as the Main Event Guarantee, which allows guests to catch all major events in real time. Star Class offers additional amenities and service. The property is also home to the PH Shop, which provides guests the opportunity to purchase branded merchandise, souvenirs and travel essentials. Free, unlimited high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the resort.
The second resort for the Planet Hollywood – Sunwing partnership, the Planet Hollywood Cancun, is set to open in spring 2019.
