Pleasant Holidays and its luxury brand, Journese, have announced the appointments of Tamara Richard and Leslie Marshall as new business development managers (BDM) based in Boston and San Diego, respectively. Bringing nearly 50 years of combined experience in the travel and hospitality industry, the two will primarily focus on helping travel advisors identify new leisure business opportunities and develop strategies to increase commission income for FIT, wedding travel and groups/incentives package bookings.
A native of Saint Lucia, Richard has called Boston home for the last 10 years. She joins the BDM team to increase travel advisor sales in the Northeastern Region of the United States, focusing on the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
According to a press release, Richard’s attention to detail and customer experience strategies, which involves detailed product information, analysis and effective marketing strategies, has allowed her to develop relationships, and increase market share and brand recognition in the travel industry. Richard has more than seven years of business development and sales experience with top travel brands, including tour operators and all-inclusive resort chains, as well as more than eight years in hospitality event management.
Based in San Diego, CA, Marshall joins Pleasant Holidays and Journese as BDM for the Inland Empire, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego County. Seen as a highly motivated and organized business development manager and relationship builder with a passion for travel, Marshall has more than 30 years of travel industry sales experience.
Previously, she has had stints with a luxury cruise line where she received numerous awards for sales growth, and with a tour operator offering escorted tours, independent packages and European river cruises.
